　　I was having dinner at a restaurant whenHarry Steele came in. Harry worked in a lawyer's office years ago， but he is now working at a bank. He gets a good salary， but he always borrows money from his friends and never pays itback. Harry saw me and came and sat at the same table. Hehas never borrowed money from me. While he was eating，I asked him to lend me twenty pounds. To my surprise，he gave me the money immediately. 'I have never borrowed any money from you，' Harry said， 'so now you can pay for mydinner！'

　　语法解析

　　1. is working， 现在进行时

　　be + doing， 表示现在时刻或现在时段正在发生的动作。此处属于“现在时段”的用法。

　　2. borrows，pays，一般现在时

　　动词第三人称单数形式，表示经常发生的或习惯性的动作。

　　语法解析

　　（1）如果连接两个以上的词语，通常把and放在最后一个词语前面，如：

　　I like eggs， meat， rice， bread and milk.

　　我喜欢鸡蛋、肉、米饭、面包和牛奶。

　　（2）为了强调，可在两者之间分别加上and，如：

　　saw and came and sat

　　and 连接三个动作，体现此处动作的连贯性。

　　（3）and连接前后两个相同的语法成分，此处为连接时态相同的两个动词；还可以连接短语或句子。如：

　　You must look after yourself and keephealthy.

　　你必须照顾自己并保持身体健康。（连接动词短语）。
